From a study I conducted, most people who have experienced postpartum depression have lacked support in their birthing journey. Yes, we have partners, and midwives, and doulas, and family and friends.... But what happens when the novelty of new baby becomes overwhelming? everyone is at work? the midwife has discharged you? and your doula has finished up with her postpartum visit?
Most people are scared to admit they may be experiencing PPD, I mean how awful is it that our babies, the things we gave life to, and we're supposed to love with every ounce of our being, start to cause us anguish, sadness, and resentment? It is OKAY to experience these feelings WITHOUT guilt! you don't have to suffer in silence.
